Countess, refugee, nun — Tisa von der Schulenburg (1903–2001) was many things, but above all a chronicler of people facing extraordinary circumstances.

The exhibition weaves together biography and artistic practice through four recurring themes: mining, the Holocaust, flight, and exclusion. Drawings, paper cutouts, and sculptures are placed in dialogue with spatial installations. Rarely seen works have been selected from a collection of more than 5,000 pieces, creating new perspectives on an artist whose attention remained firmly focused on the lives of others.
